I HAVE read in your paper recently about the council making a £118,000 donation to save the Moran painting. I know it will be nice to have such a fine painting in Bolton's art gallery, especially with it having been painted by a local artist. But what bothers me most is that this is at a time when Bolton council is saying they cannot afford to repair houses, provide school clothing grants, or keep libraries open because of lack of funds.  more...
